Heads up hard core researchers: Interlibrary Loan will be closed from December 24, 2011 - January 2, 2012.
Wondering why your favorite service isn't open for a week? Sadly, as much as they deserve it, our Interlibrary Loan staff will not all be slathering on the sunblock and sipping grenadine drinks in the Caribbean. The truth is much more mundane: the lending libraries from whence we borrow materials are almost all closed. It's no good sending out requests if no one is on the other end.
Please note that articles and other materials that are scanned are included in this hiatus. While scanning is magical and can be speedy, it does take actual humans on either end to "touch" the request.
If you are itching to make progress on your research, you can still submit your requests and they'll be processed when the office reopens January 3rd. We're anticipating a temporary backlog in filling document delivery requests. If you are under a deadline, such as for a grant, please indicate this when you place your request so that we can prioritize requests.
