Update at 2:00pm:
SFX is responding to requests once more but may still be unstable. There are a few unexplained errors we're still working with Ex Libris to try to clear up. In the meantime, if it's working for you, go ahead and use it. I'll update the post again when we are certain that SFX is back to normal.
If you requested any changes to SFX's data yesterday and got a reply that these changes would be in production today, you will not see those changes in production. Part of the restoration process prevented those changes from moving over to production today; we'll get those moved once the system has stabilized.

Our SFX installation encountered a problem early this morning during a routine data copy process. SFX's unresponsiveness to requests was discovered at approximately 8:00am; the likely cause of the problem was discovered at approximately 9:00am. Ex Libris was notified of the problem and all staff were emailed that the service was unavailable until further notice. Communications & Marketing posted a notice to this effect on the Libraries' Twitter feed at approximately 11:00am.
As of 12:45pm, we are in touch with Ex Libris and have attempted to restore service using several of their suggestions, but have encountered some unexpected errors in the process. Ex Libris is aware of these errors and is investigating.
This post will be updated as the situation develops. Thanks for your patience.
