Web of Knowledge New URLs

Approximately 4 weeks after releasing the new Web of Knowledge platform, Thomson Reuters has announced new URLs for these databases. The changes affect the following resources:

• Web of Science
• Biological Abstracts
• CABI: CAB Abstracts and Global Health
• Food Science & Technology Abstracts
• Journal Citation Reports

The new and classic database directories have been updated, as has EZproxy. You should update WoK bookmarks or links to these resources on pages you maintain. Thomson Reuters has not indicated how long old URLs will continue to redirect. New URLs can be copied from either databases directory or found here.

Updated: Taylor & Francis article-level linking

Update 8/10/11:
Article-level linking to Taylor & Francis Online has been restored with the latest SFX software update.

Taylor and Francis has released its new Taylor & Francis Online platform, replacing Informaworld:
http://www.tandfonline.com

While redirects are in place to make sure that links to Informaworld e-journals link correctly to Taylor & Francis Online, article-level linking via the Get It button isn't yet optimized for the new platform. These links won't fail but they will result in the journal issue's table of contents rather than the requested article. See this Get It menu for an example.

Article-level linking will be restored when Get It is able to transmit the article's DOI to Taylor & Francis Online. Informaworld did not use DOIs so this functionality is not available for redirection to the new platform. I'll update this post when article-level linking works again.

Note that journal title-level linking from the EJournals list and the catalog are not affected; these links should redirect correctly. Off-campus access to Taylor & Francis Online should not be a problem. Please email me if you have questions or encounter errors.

EZproxy service outage Tuesday, August 9, 2011

EZproxy will be unavailable to staff and users on Tuesday, August 9, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm for a software update. This update is necessary before the beginning of the Fall 2011 semester and must be conducted during operational hours so that OCLC support is available. Any further information during the update will be posted here; an email will be sent to staff when EZproxy service is restored. Please contact Jamene Brooks-Kieffer with questions.
