Introduction of new staff - Alisha Rall, graduate student in School of Library and Information Management at Emporia State University, is finishing an archives practicum and will graduate in December with a Master of Library Science degree with an Archives Studies Certificate. Her last day will be October 29. Her major project was to process the Marjorie L. Honstead Feldhausen Papers and prepare an exhibit in the gallery as well as on-line exhibit.
United Way presentation: Girls Scouts Beyond Bars Programs--guests: Crystal Bryant & Margaret Moore, introduced by Michelle Bowen - They shared stories about girls and their families as well as Girl Scout Cookies!
International student's perspectives on the K-State Libraries--guest: Yar Mohammed, introduced by Daryl Youngman – Yar is a professor in the English department at Kabul University in Afghanistan. He shared with us his experience pursuing an advanced degree at K-State.
Preservation Awareness Month--Preservation Team – The Preservation Team has designated October as Preservation Awareness Month. They reminded us to check out the Fall Preservation Display on 2nd Floor, continue with the Great Preservation Awareness Quiz on K-State Online and shared these videos:
Repository Services Team (RST) Update--Harish Maringanti, Michelle Turvey-Welch, and Tara Baillargeon updated us on the developments in K-REx including the ability to log in with your eID and password, a most viewed items section, and additional items that have been added to the collection. They encouraged us to submit our work (articles, posters, papers, etc.) in to K-REx. The RST has four pilot projects started: Digitizing a collection of 75 historical K-State photos, digitizing some pieces from the Clementine Paddleford collection, contributions to the GWLA Western Waters Digital Library, and digitizing Riley County aerial photos.

Announcements:
- Connie has candy for sale ($0.50/bag) for Breast Cancer Awareness month
- Unity and Pride Campaign - Debbie announced our participation rate so far is 45%, but we can do better than that. There are great prizes that will be raffled off at the conclusion of this campaign for those who participate.
- The Fiedler Atrium is open again
- Donna Ekart encouraged our submission of publications, presentations, etc to the K-Statement.
